Powerful music tool for the mobile
MyStrands is a free (absolutely freeno strings attached!) desktop application that lets you get more connection from your digital music: more music, more friends, and especially more fun! Find friends through music in the MyStrands community. Throw parties and entertain your friends with music, messages, and pictures through partyStrands, the newest MyStrands feature. Tag music, create playlists, and of course, get instant recommendations with other MyStrands features.
MyStrands Features
Discovering music is easy with MyStrands. But there’s much more! The icons and buttons described below can be found in various places in MyStrands. When you see them, hover your mouse to get a description of what an icon or button can do, then click to discover more about both MyStrands and music.
Party Fun!

- Use personal partyStrands to let all your guests influence the music at your next party
- Add to the party entertainment by displaying your favorite pictures while the music plays
- Send messages to your guests throughout the festivities.
- Look for partyStrands at your favorite club - and if they don’t have it, sign ‘em up (Here’s how!)
- partyStrands is now available on Windows. The Mac version is coming soon!
Music Discovery

- The “Use MyStrands” option from the system tray menu lets you start discovering music with MyStrands
- Get real-time recommendations for the current song or recent songs
- Quickly link to your favorite store to buy recommended music
- Click a song title for the artist biography, discography, reviews, etc.
Personalize it!

- Set up filters to get recommendations by genre, decade or familiarity
Community

- Follow the music your friends are playing
- Find out what musical affinity you have with other members
- Send MyStrands.com messages to your friends
- Add and organize lists of friends, influences, and other contacts
- Discover new members who have played the songs you’re playing
- See what friends and like-minded listeners have played recently
Share Discoveries

- Send emails to friends letting them know what you’re listening to
- Discovery emails include links to 30-second clips for the featured song
Build playlists

- Choose Playlist from the “Use MyStrands” menu in the system tray.
- Build great playlists from your own music library
- Start up the playlist recommender with tracks or playlist names
- Create filters to control the decade, genre, or artists that occur in the playlist
- Get recommendations to enhance your new playlists
Create Tag Cloud playlists

- Choose Tag Cloud from the Use MyStrands/Playlist menu
- Use Tag Cloud to instantly build playlists from personal or community tags
- Publish tag cloud playlists to MyStrands.com to share with other members
Tag your music

- Use tags to categorize your music, your way
- See how other MyStrands members tag your music
- Build instant playlists based on your tags or community tags
iPod Synchronization

- Click to add your iPod play history to your music profile
- View and share your iPod plays on MyStrands.com
Music Auto-fill (MyStrands for Windows)

- Click to fill your Windows Smart Phone, Symbian Series 60 (3rd edition) phone or many MP3 players with music from your library
- Choose music based on tags or playlists
- Get music recommended by your recent play history
- With MyStrands Mobile your music will be ready to go when you’re finished
Buy new music

- Set up your preferred music store on the MyStrands.com web site
- Click the “buy” icon next to any recommendation and go to your preferred store
